DESCRIPTION
If you are new to design and development of simulations, come
to one of our new
NLN Simulation Workshops.
During these one and a half day workshops, you will see a state
of the art simulation
center, a variety of simulation equipment, and demonstrations
of scenarios using a
patient simulator. Content will address the design, development,
and implementation
of simulations, and their integration into the curriculum.
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
- Differentiate among features of low, medium
and high fidelity simulators.
- Propose 5 or more advantages to using
simulation as a teaching/learning tool.
- Develop a simulation scenario using a
template.
- Outline a plan for the implementation
of simulation scenario.
- Examine current practices and research
regarding the implementation of simulation in the laboratory
and/or classroom.
- Construct strategies for addressing possible
pitfalls and problems when implementing a simulation scenario.
- Compare the strategies of debriefing and
guided reflection
- Explain how to integrate debriefing and
guided reflection into a simulated experience.
