Academic Career Development
Nursing education needs individual nursing faculty to advance in their careers
to senior faculty and academic leadership positions. Consultant will work with
groups to determine appropriate career strategies for specific academic settings
depending on individuals’ current level of career development. The nature
of various appointments and institution-specific guidelines for tenure and promotion
will provide the basis for individual planning along with individual goal-setting.
Participants will develop initial personal statements appropriate to their own
institutional advancement requirements. Participants will have an opportunity
to identify strategies for successfully attending to expectations across the
domains of teaching, scholarship and service along with professional practice
and work-life balance concerns.
