Nursing Education Perspectives NLN’s official, peer-reviewed, bimonthly journal, reports the latest findings in nursing educational research and innovative education programs. Individual members receive a full year, print subscription to the journal.

The NLN Report, the (print) newsletter of the National League for Nursing

NLN Member Update available free to subscribers via e-mail on a biweekly basis, provides information about the NLN, higher education, constituent league activities, and topics relevant to NLN’s mission and goals.

Faculty Development Bulletin Bi-weekly e-newsletter with the latest courses, workshops, seminars and conferences.

Nursing Education Policy Monthly newsletter from the NLN's Washington DC-based advocacy office.

NLN eCommunities A bulletin board system that resides on the National League for Nursing's website. Members of an eCommunity can view community news and contribute to discussion forums.

Members' Special Rates and Discounts

Faculty Development Activities, including workshops, conferences, institutes, and planned on-line programs, enhance the abilities of nurse educators and are available to members at a reduced rate. Several continuing education learning programs allow for self-study to update knowledge and skills in a comprehensive, convenient, and cost-effective format and satisfy state CEU requirements.

Testing Products and Services are construct valid and reliable standardized norm-reference examinations for use in admissions testing, achievement course testing, end-of-program testing, and Master's level testing. All NLN tests are developed by nurse educators for the nursing profession. NLN members receive discounts on total assessment packages for use across the curriculum.

Education Summit convenes annually, and provides a forum for nurse educators to examine and discuss critical issues they face today. Members receive special registration rates.

Certified Nurse EducatorCM Examination Establishes nursing education as a specialty area of practice and creates a means for faculty to express their expertise in this role. NLN members receive a discounted examination fee.

Publications Members receive discounts on NLN titles.

Data related to nursing schools, program enrollments and graduation, curriculum innovations, nursing education research activities, and other topics are available to members at no or minimal cost.

Additional Benefits

Task Groups promote opportunities for members to network, as well as to address and influence significant issues in nursing education, ongoing work force development, and the use of technology in education.

Nursing Education Research Initiatives supported by the NLN, or through the NLN’s partnerships with other organizations, provide funding to members for scholarly projects that relate to identified priorities and help advance the science of nursing education.

Voting Privileges allow members to "weigh in" on matters of importance to them and their institutions, and to influence NLN policy. To ensure all faculty of NLN member schools receive full voting privileges, a current faculty list must be submitted to the NLN annually with membership renewal and changes made as they occur.

Recognition Awards provide a mechanism for the nursing community to acknowledge the accomplishments of NLN members.

NLN Online, at www.nln.org, offers complete and current information on all NLN meetings, activities and products, including online catalogues, career and educational opportunities, search engines, testing services, newsletters, and books.

NLN eCareer Center The NLN helps connect nursing professionals with companies seeking qualified candidates. Employers can post job openings (there is a nominal fee) and job seekers can apply for these jobs online.

Constituent Leagues provide the opportunity for individual members to interact with regional colleagues about nursing issues and, through legislative grassroots activities, to advocate for quality nursing education in their regions.

Faculty Membership Full- and part-time faculty at NLN member education agencies receive full individual membership at no additional charge.
