Call for Abstracts

Abstracts are invited for NLN Education Summit 2013, the premier conference for nurse faculty attended by almost 2000 individuals from all types of programs in the US and around the world.

The NLN Education Summit allows nurse educators to network and share innovative practices, educational research findings, creative approaches to teaching and evaluation, and ideas on collaborating to achieve excellence in nursing education.

All abstracts are peer reviewed; the selection process is competitive. Abstracts may be submitted for any of the presentation formats listed below. The NLN reserves the right to combine like presentations into a multiple panel symposium format (90 minutes).

Concurrent Sessions
Reports of completed pedagogical research, innovative projects, or education-related issues. Presentations are allotted 45 minutes.

Workshops
Interactive, hands-on programs about innovative teaching or evaluation approaches, new curriculum designs, or other topics of interest to nurse educators. Workshops are allotted 90 minutes.

Posters
Visual presentations of a completed pedagogical research study or one that is in progress, a special project, etc. Posters will be on display in the exhibit hall and available to attendees during all meal functions and exhibit hours.

Abstracts must be submitted online, by 5:00 pm (ET) December 10, 2012. Click here to submit your abstract. The NLN strongly recommends early submission of abstracts.

Abstracts received electronically by the deadline are circulated to a team of reviewers; decisions will be made by January 4, 2013. Primary presenters who do not receive notification by March 4, 2013 are asked to contact the NLN at summitabstracts@nln.org.

Please be advised that all communications from the NLN will only be with the primary presenter, and this person will be expected to communicate with co-presenters, if applicable.

The NLN reserves the right to audiotape presentations so that they and speaker handouts may be made available on CD. Individuals whose abstracts are accepted are expected to give permission for such taping and handout use, should the NLN decide to pursue the option.

In addition, accepted abstracts will reside in STTI’s Virginia Henderson International Nursing library’s extensive archive, the Registry of Nursing Research, which nurses may access free of charge and includes contact information for principal investigators.

Presenters must register for the Summit, and pay their own travel, hotel, and other expenses. A discount voucher will be sent to the primary presenter for each Concurrent Session.
