PERSONAL STATEMENT

It would be an honor to serve on the NLN Certification Commission. My passion is excellence in nursing! My vision is nurses leading health care innovations in practice and education. For the past 20 years my work and research has focused on measuring outcomes for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) clinical practice and educational competencies via standardized testing. My academic experience has included leading program curriculum development, launching of graduate nursing programs, and program implementation and evaluation. My skills of nurse educator, nurse practitioner, and nurse scientist provide a robust base for the position of CNE commissioner.  I strongly support the work of the NLN in building an outstanding diverse workforce to improve the health of our nation and global communities and if elected, I will serve with enthusiasm and trustworthiness to NLN’s mission, vision and values of caring, integrity, diversity, and excellence.
