NURSING EDUCATION RESEARCH, TECHNOLOGY AND
INFORMATION MANAGEMENT ADVISORY COUNCIL (NERTIMAC)
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Nursing Education Research, Technology,
and Information Management Advisory Council (NERTIMAC) is to promote
the scholarship of teaching and learning through (a) advancing the
science and art of nursing education through nursing education research,
(b) promoting evidence-based teaching and learning, (c) facilitating
the integration of technology into teaching and learning, and (d)
facilitating the integration of information management into nursing
education.
GOALS:
1. Promote the NLN's Priorities for Research in
Nursing Education and revise those Priorities as appropriate.
2. Promote and facilitate synergy among the nursing
education research Priorities, curriculum development, and faculty
competencies.
3. Develop an electronic resource repository for
nursing education research.
4. Draft position statements on issues related
to nursing education research and the integration of technology
and information management into nursing education.
5. Participate in the selection of recipients
of NLN-sponsored research grants.
6. Assist with the writing of proposals to support/underwrite
NLN's nursing education research initiatives.
7. Interpret and disseminate NLN-generated data
about nursing programs, nursing students, and nursing educators.
8. Establish standards for the use of educational
technology in nursing education.
9. Collaborate with the other NLN Advisory Councils
to design initiatives that promote faculty competence related
to educational technology and nursing education research.
