NLN Annual Survey of Schools of Nursing

For more than 50 years, schools of nursing, federal and state governments, policy-makers, and other key decision-makers responsible for conducting research and analysis of the nursing workforce supply pipeline have relied on the NLN's Annual Survey of Schools of Nursing. Although the survey's name has changed from time to time – (the survey was dubbed the "National Nursing Education Database (NNED) survey" from 2003 to 2005) – it has remained the primary source of educational statistics on nursing programs in the United States.

Among other variables, the NLN's Annual Survey provides data on enrollments, admissions, graduations and applications in programs of all types – LPN/LVN, ADN, BSN, MSN and PhD. In 2004-2005 the Annual Survey produced a database housing information on 1,554 nursing programs in the United States.
