A new year and new beginnings! I am nervous and excited as I begin my presidency for the South Carolina League for Nursing (SCLN). I am blessed to have a supportive and hard working Executive Committee and Board of Directors. As the SCLN board works to uphold the National League for Nursing’s (NLN) mission and vision we are busy building a solid team and communicating a strong 2013 Strategic Plan.

Our main goals this year will be to strengthen our presence in South Carolina by partnering with hospitals to sponsor and offer educational opportunities for nurses. In the spring we will cosponsor a workshop with the SCLN Deans and Directors. And as always we will offer multiple scholarships. We will wrap up the year with our SCLN Annual Banquet November 8th!

I want to thank our previous president Betsy McDowell for her guidance and thank our members, Executive Board and Directors as we reach our 2013 goals.
