Nurse Educators - Making a Difference in Self and Others to Strengthen Networks and Partnerships
Presenters: John Hinck, PhD | Janice Brewington, PhD, RN, FAAN | Katherine Harding, PhD

How do we begin to see and experience our sense of self with others in a meaningful way that transforms our leadership? At this challenging workshop, we will work with concepts of self, others, networks, and partnerships as elements of individual and collective leadership. To what extent do these concepts and boundaries promote a sense of co-creation within a larger context, or to what extent do they feed fear, conquest, acquisition, and neediness? Which illusory concepts and boundaries serve the well-being of the larger system, and which create a sense of fragmentation, alienation, isolation, and hostility? To what concepts do we cling and why? What are the fears behind releasing those illusions? How does this understanding of boundaries suggest practices that serve the organizational essential purpose and well-being and those of the people within it? We will apply our lived experiences and our insights to practical actions in our roles and organizations so that they can be a healthy and vital human system.

This session is nested with the NLN core values of caring, integrity, and excellence, and with the 2018 Summit objective around strengthening networks and partnerships. Participants will walk away with ideas of how to apply the new learning to make a real difference back home. Registration: $305 members/ $405 non-members
