The NLN Division for Innovation in Teaching Excellence is sponsoring a spring series of three webinars, addressing considerations for Good Teaching using our popular NLN Town Hall webinar format.

The series entails three 60-minute sessions with experts who have successfully implemented changes within their nursing program using teaching/learning strategies that address student engagement and assessment of learning in the classroom, and providing unique clinical experiences for students during the pandemic. Our experts will share their thoughtful approaches to solutions grounded in today’s neuroscience principles and the necessary navigation with clinical partners all, while taking aim at Good Teaching.

The focus of this Taking Aim at Good Teaching webinar is a look inside the making of a cutting-edge Academic-Practice Partnership. As a response to the pandemic, national nursing education and practice organizations developed a Policy Brief: U.S. Nursing Leadership Supports Practice/Academic Partnerships to Assist the Nursing Workforce during the COVID-19 Crisis. This webinar will describe a non-traditional opportunity created as a result of the policy brief. Students gained clinical course credit while working as nursing assistants in expanded roles. Join Associate Dean of Nursing Martha Buckner and Undergraduate Director Sandy Murabito of Belmont University, and Chief Nursing Officer at Ascension Saint Thomas West, Samantha Straton, as they share their partnership journey.
