The NLN Immersion in Evidence-based
Nursing Education offers an in-depth opportunity to develop
and refine skills and insights that will help you evolve as an
educator and leader. The intensive week-long program is designed
to communicate cutting-edged, evidenced based thought in nursing
education. Bring your personal growth objective or that of your
school of nursing, to the Immersion and commit to completing or
making significant progress toward achieving your goal at this
year’s Immersion experience.
The 2010 Immersion conference takes place June 13-18, at the Vanderbilt
University School of Nursing. It addresses all the Core Competencies
for Nurse Educators©, and offers an opportunity to build
excellence in your career and enhance your teaching and research
skills through:
- role modeling of active teaching/learning strategies
- individual guidance to help you integrate innovation into the
nursing curriculum
- personal consultation with experts regarding evidence-based
teaching
- networking with colleagues and leaders in nursing education.
Three specialty tracks designed to meet the needs
of nurse educators at different points of career development,
provide a basis for incorporating “best practice”
methodologies into nursing education.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of the Immersion attendees will be able to:
- Evaluate the role of nurse educator as teacher, scholar and
leader
- Examine the state of the evidence for innovative curriculum
re-design
- Analyze best practices for advancing the science of nursing
education
- Examine the state of the science of nursing education and issues
related to its development

Competencies for Nurse Educators©.
