DESCRIPTION
Built on the NLN core values of caring, integrity, diversity,
and excellence, this conference is designed for nursing administrators
and faculty who are committed to transformative leadership roles
to advance the health of the nation. Participants will join peers
to examine issues related to organizational systems and leadership
processes and hear national experts discuss the impact of the
recent IOM Future of Nursing Report on leadership for change.
Conference faculty will focus on strategic planning, diversity
and inclusion, and developing a personal career plan to advance
in organizational leadership.
Leadership Conference Objectives:
- Identify the key components of the strong leadership
needed to answer the call issued by the Institute of Medicine’s
Future of Nursing Report to realize a transformed health care
system.
- Discuss the dynamics of organizations – leadership,
authority, power, and competition – to guide innovation
in nursing programs nationally.
- Discover ways to motivate and influence others to lead
reform agendas.
- Enhance career opportunities by developing leadership skills
to create personal and organizational visions and plan program
strategies that are timely, efficient and futuristic.
