Developing Interdisciplinary Simulations (limited to 25)
Friday, October 29, 8:30 – 12:30 PM
Fairbanks Hall on the Indiana University Campus
Indianapolis, IN
DESCRIPTION This workshop, led by Dr. Scott Engum and Dr. Pam Jeffries,
will take place in the new simulation facility jointly operated
by Indiana University School of Medicine, Indiana University School
of Nursing and Clarian Health. This state-of-the art simulation
center was conceived as an environment where students and health
care providers can learn to apply cognitive, psychomotor and affective
skills in a interdisciplinary approach. The workshop will prepare
you to develop interdisciplinary simulations for your own curriculum.
Short video clips of interdisciplinary simulations will provide
examples, and participants will develop their own simulation and
present it for feedback by the group.
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

education
Describe approaches to develop an interdisciplinary
partnership
Identify different strategies to incorporate interdisciplinary
activities in your teaching
Discuss future implications of interdisciplinary education
