| The National League for Nursing & the Missouri
League for Nursing Co-sponsored Workshop
Creative Nursing Education in the Lab and Clinical Settings
Crown Plaza Hotel - St. Louis Airport
February 27, 2009
This all day program provides nursing
educators with over 45 strategies to use in the clinical area and
nursing laboratory to inspire student learning. As educators, we
aspire to connect with our students and “turn them on to learning”
and to our content. The best way to do this is to create an active,
learner-centered environment which captures each student’s
attention, helps students remember material, inspires critical thinking,
and is FUN! Creative strategies, integrated throughout learning
environments, are effective in increasing students’ attending
to and retaining information. Although these strategies are designed
for the lab and clinical areas, nursing and other educators can
adapt these innovative methods for personal use in any setting.
The strategies are quick, easy to implement, and can be transferred
to a wide range of teaching topics.
