DESCRIPTION
This workshop provides nurse educators with over 45 strategies
to use in the clinical area and nursing laboratory to inspire
student learning. The strategies are quick, easy to implement,
and can be transferred to a wide range of teaching topics. As
educators, we aspire to connect with our students and “turn
them on” to learning and to our content. The best way to
accomplish this is to create an active, learner-centered environment
which captures each student’s attention, helps students
remember material, inspires critical thinking, and is FUN! Creative
strategies, integrated throughout learning environments, are effective
in increasing students’ attending to and retaining information.
This workshop may be combined with the Creative Nursing Education
in the Classroom workshop for a comprehensive nursing educational
experience for novice or experienced educators in schools of nursing,
allied health programs, or clinical settings. .
