The core of the SMARTcare program is the SMARTcare Professional Counseling Tool, a robust online resource that you can use to access printable education sheets that can be given to patients during the visit; a perfect addition for students in community health courses.

These condition-specific education sheets contain useful information that will help patients treat their condition after the visit as well as discounts on recommended over-the-counter treatments, when available. (The NLN does not endorse any specific product).

The SMARTcare Professional Counseling Tool currently covers more than 40 commonly treated conditions. In addition, the system features printable patient education sheets on a broad range of general health topics, including:

2. Look for the Sign Up box and enter the NLN Subscriber Code: nln2010
   • You will be asked to accept a Terms of Use
   • Upon your acceptance of the Terms, you will be asked to set-up your user name and password
3. Once you are set-up, you can link back to the Home Page so you can Sign In and have immediate access to patient counseling resources.
