Purpose
The purpose of the Nursing Education
Research Advisory Council is to promote the scholarship
of teaching by providing leadership in the development of
the science of nursing education, supporting nursing education
research, and promoting evidence-based teaching practices.
Goals
- Promote the NLN’s Priorities
for Research in Nursing Education and revise those priorities
as appropriate.
- Promote and facilitate synergy among the nursing education
research priorities, curriculum, development, and faculty
competencies.
- Provide input to NLN staff regarding the development
of an electronic resource repository that would support
the work of nursing education researchers.
- Provide leadership regarding implementation and ongoing
refinement of the NLN’s research grants program
(i.e., prepare the annual RFP, establish priorities for
funding each year, make recommendations regarding grant
recipients, etc.)
- Assist with writing proposals to support/underwrite
the NLN’s nursing education research initiatives.
- Design initiatives that promote faculty competence
related to nursing education research.
- Collaborate with NLN advisory councils, task groups,
BOG liaisons, the president-elect, and other committees
on issues related to nursing education research.
