Nursing Education Research Advisory Council (NERAC)
Purpose
The purpose of the Nursing Education Research Advisory Council (NERAC) is to promote the scholarship of teaching and learning through providing leadership in the development of the science of nursing education, supporting nursing education research, and promoting evidence-based teaching and learning.
Goals
- Promote the NLN’s Priorities for Research in Nursing Education and revise those Priorities as appropriate.
- Promote and facilitate synergy among the nursing education research Priorities, curriculum development, and faculty competencies.
- Develop an electronic resource repository for nursing education research.
- Draft position statements on issues related to nursing education research.
- Participate in the selection of recipients of NLN-sponsored research grants.
- Assist with the writing of proposals to support/underwrite NLN’s nursing education research initiatives.
- Interpret and disseminate NLN-generated data about nursing programs, nursing students, and nursing educators.
- Collaborate with the other NLN Advisory Councils to design initiatives that promote faculty competence related to nursing education research.
