Advisory Councils
Purpose
The purpose of the Nurse Educator Workforce Development Advisory
Council is to lead and champion the lifelong career development of a diverse,
well-prepared nurse educator workforce in academic, practice, or other service
settings, nationally and internationally.
Goals
- Support public policy efforts that ensure an adequate and
well-prepared nurse educator workforce.
- Improve recruitment and retention of students and clinicians into the advanced
practice role of nurse educator.
- Promote the value of nursing education practice globally.
- Formulate and disseminate competencies for nurse educators globally.
- Advance the development of a diverse nurse educator workforce, nationally
and internationally.
- Promote collaboration between nursing education and nursing practice on
issues related to the education and lifelong career development of the nursing
workforce.
- Inform NLN staff of ideas for programs that will meet the learning needs
of educators, nationally and internationally, in academic or practice settings.
- Promote use of the NLN’s Healthful Work Environment Toolkit.
- Collaborate with NLN advisory councils, task groups, BOG liaisons, the
president-elect, and other committees on issues related to the ongoing development
of the nurse educator workforce.
