National League for Nursing - Get Invovled Advisory Councils

Purpose

The purpose of the Nurse Educator Workforce Development Advisory Council is to lead and champion the lifelong career development of a diverse, well-prepared nurse educator workforce in academic, practice, or other service settings, nationally and internationally.

Goals

  1. Support public policy efforts that ensure an adequate and well-prepared nurse educator workforce.
  2. Improve recruitment and retention of students and clinicians into the advanced practice role of nurse educator.
  3. Promote the value of nursing education practice globally.
  4. Formulate and disseminate competencies for nurse educators globally.
  5. Advance the development of a diverse nurse educator workforce, nationally and internationally.
  6. Promote collaboration between nursing education and nursing practice on issues related to the education and lifelong career development of the nursing workforce.
  7. Inform NLN staff of ideas for programs that will meet the learning needs of educators, nationally and internationally, in academic or practice settings.
  8. Promote use of the NLN’s Healthful Work Environment Toolkit.
  9. Collaborate with NLN advisory councils, task groups, BOG liaisons, the president-elect, and other committees on issues related to the ongoing development of the nurse educator workforce.
