I am honored to serve as the President of the New York League for Nursing (NYLN), the organization is six years young. Under the leadership of past presidents Karin Pantel and Deborah Merriam the organization attained full affiliate status as a constituent league of the NLN in 2014. Our immediate past president, Diane Lew-Snider moved the organization forward, meeting the lofty goal of offering two educational offerings each year in diverse locations across the state. With their collective knowledge and support I aim to continue the momentum, to grow the membership, creating a strong network that is a champion for nurse educators in New York State.
A special thank you to the two board members who served in their positions since 2012: Lauren O’Hare, secretary and Mary Donahue, treasurer.
Join us as we continue this exciting journey. Get involved and become active in the organization, as we update the website and provide multiple ways (both digital and paper) to join the NYLN.
I look forward to working with our President-elect Jennifer (Jenna) Thate and the Board of Directors, as we focus on meeting the goals outlined in the strategic plan.
Welcome and please join us on this exciting voyage,
Patricia M. Burke, PhD, CNE, RNC
