I am honored to have been chosen to be the President for the PLN for the two-year period covering 2014-2016. As President, I am committed to strengthening our critical role as nurse educators who are responsible for promoting excellence in nursing education and practice in Pennsylvania.
As members of the PLN, we work to support and implement the mission of the NLN which includes building “a strong and diverse workforce to advance the nation’s health.” As a member, you can play a vital part in creating alliances with various colleagues from education, practice and communities to advocate for better health care for our citizens. I urge you to become involved in the local areas or state level to share your talents, knowledge and expertise. Please contact me if you would like to become more involved in advancing nursing as an important profession within the state. We need committed and engaged nurses who bring creative and new ideas to help us succeed in supporting all types of academic and lifelong learning programs for nurses. To sustain PLN, we should promote PLN and NLN membership with our colleagues and encourage attendance at our area conferences, become involved in area activities, and committ to the NLN’s core values of “caring, integrity, diversity, and excellence”.
