About the Editor, Joyce Fitzpatrick, PhD, RN, FAAN
 Dr. Joyce Fitzpatrick is Elizabeth Brooks Ford Professor of Nursing at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, where she was dean from 1982 through 1997. Dr. Fitzpatrick is a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and served as that organization's president from 1997 to 1999. Widely published in nursing literature, she is editor of two other nursing journals: Applied Nursing Research and Archives of Psychiatric Nursing.
