In order for professional nurses to take the lead in policy-making and directing health care reform initiatives, they must be knowledgeable about government relations, engage in the development of policies with legislators, and develop the advocacy skills inherent in the future scope and role of nursing. The Public Policy Advocacy Toolkit is designed to guide nurses, nursing students, and nurse educators through myriad levels of government actions.
To best serve the needs of the nursing community in the context of our evolving public policy landscape, the Public Policy Advocacy Toolkit is a "living document" that will continue to grow as additional information and resources become available. Please send us your feedback and comments.
