Formation of Affiliated Constituent Leagues

The NLN encourages our members to get involved at the local level to advance the League’s mission. If there is no constituent league in your area, and you have a local interested group of nurse educators, you may be ready to start your own affiliated constituent league of the National League for Nursing.

To download an application and the Guidelines for the Formation of an NLN Affiliated Constituent League, click here. For further information or questions, email leagues@nln.org.

Constituent League Leadership Awards

The Constituent League Awards are distributed annually to local leaders that go that extra mile for their state, the NLN, and the nursing education community. There are two distinct categories:

  • Outstanding Leadership (of a Constituent League)
  • Innovative & Effective Membership Recruitment
An appeal for nominees goes out each year in June and awards are presented at the Constituent League Leadership Workshop held annually in September. To view the nomination criteria click here.

Both constituent league members and NLN members in states/regions with a fully affiliated constituent league are eligible to vote for their constituent leaders. When nominations open, be sure to propose the person in your constituent league that you feel should be recognized for outstanding performance and results. Click here to complete the 2009 nomination form.

We hope you will join us in honoring constituent league leaders with the outstanding performance and outstanding results that contribute to the NLN’s mission: Nominate a local leader.
