Purpose: Evaluates students' knowledge of the care of children, with an emphasis on normal growth and development. Items address children's health promotion and the care of children of various ages who are experiencing common health problems. Includes questions on communication, nutrition, and pharmacology.
Format: 125 multiple-choice, four-option items. Twenty-five items are for experimental purposes and not included in the scoring.
Administration: Schedule after completion of course work in pediatric nursing. This test may be administered as a computer-based test (CBT) or paper-based test (PBT). All achievement CBT and PBTs must be administered in a secure, proctored environment unless otherwise directed.
Scoring: A total score and two subscores are provided. Normative data are based on the performance of students in PN programs.
