Purpose: Assesses students' understanding of nursing care of clients during pregnancy, labor and delivery, the postpartum period and neonatal care. Includes relevant items on therapeutic communication, nutrition, and pharmacology.
Format: 125 multiple-choice, four-option items. Twenty-five items are for experimental purposes and not included in the scoring.
Administration: Schedule after completion of course work in maternity nursing. This test may be administered as a computer-based test (CBT) or paper-based test (PBT). All achievement CBT and PBTs must be administered in a secure, proctored environment unless otherwise directed.
Scoring: A total score and two subscores are provided. Normative data are based on the performance of students in PN programs.
