Purpose: Assesses students' understanding of fundamental nursing principles. Topics addressed include the selection of appropriate care measures, identification of nutritional requirements, principles of therapeutic communication, and utilization of the nursing process.
Format: 125 multiple-choice, four-option items. Twenty-five items are for experimental purposes and not included in the scoring.
Administration: Schedule after completion of course work in fundamentals of nursing. This test may be administered as a computer-based test (CBT) or paper-based test (PBT). All achievement CBT and PBTs must be administered in a secure, proctored environment unless otherwise directed.
Scoring: A total score and three subscores are provided. Normative data are based on the performance of students in PN programs.
