Purpose: Assesses students' understanding of facts and principles related to medications and medication administration. Focuses on calculation of medication dosages, interpretation of medication orders, and observation of the therapeutic and adverse effects of commonly prescribed medications.
Format: 125 multiple-choice, four-option items. Twenty-five items are for experimental purposes and not included in the scoring.
Administration: : Schedule at the completion of the practical nursing program. This test may be administered as a computer-based test (CBT) or paper-based test (PBT). All achievement CBT and PBTs must be administered in a secure, proctored environment unless otherwise directed.
Scoring: A total score and three subscores are provided. Normative data are based on the performance of students in PN programs.
