COMPREHENSIVE NURSING ACHIEVEMENT TEST - PN

Purpose: Evaluates students' readiness for the NCLEX-PN®. Focuses on knowledge required for the beginning practical nurse. Includes items on the utilization of the nursing process in caring for clients throughout the life span. Includes items on basic communication techniques, medication administration and effects, nutrition, human development, and recording and reporting of client status.
Format: 181 multiple-choice, four-option items.
Administration: Can be administered in three and one-half hours. Schedule near completion of the educational program. This test may be administered as a computer-based test (CBT) or paper-based test (PBT).
Scoring: The performance report is based on the new NCLEX-PN® test plan. Two copies of each individual diagnostic profile are provided: one for the examinee and one for faculty analysis. A summary report for the class, which includes a record of each student's incorrect and/or omitted responses, is provided when 10 or more students are tested in a group.
A total score and 16 subscores in the following areas are provided.
