Purpose: Assesses students' understanding of the normal structure and physiology of the human body. Items focus on cellular metabolism and membrane physiology; major body systems (circulatory, respiratory, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, endocrine, urinary, immune, integumentary) and the heart; metabolism and temperature control; reproduction; and special areas.
Format: 125 multiple-choice, four-option items. Twenty-five of these items are for experimental purposes and not included in the scoring.
Administration: Schedule after completion of course work in anatomy and physiology. This test may be administered as a computer-based test (CBT) or paper-based test (PBT). All achievement CBT and PBTs must be administered in a secure, proctored environment unless otherwise directed.
Scoring: A total score and two subscores are provided. Normative data are based on the performance of students in RN programs.
