NURSING ACCELERATION CHALLENGE EXAM (NACE) I - PN to RN: NURSING CARE DURING CHILDBEARING AND NURSING CARE OF THE CHILD

Purpose: Assesses understanding of nursing care during the antepartal, intrapartal, postpartal, and neonatal periods. Also addresses nursing care of hospitalized children and adolescents.

Format: 198 multiple-choice, four-option items.

Administration: Can be administered in three and one-half hours. . Administer one or both parts for a comprehensive assessment of a student's performance. This test may be administered as a computer-based test (CBT) or paper-based test (PBT).

Scoring: A total score is provided as a basic to use in the decision to award credit for advanced placement in an RN program. Score reports also include diagnostic scores for each area of nursing content and all areas of the nursing process. These diagnostic scores are intended to supplement faculty evaluation of students and to enhance the student's self-assessment of strengths and weaknesses. This Nursing Acceleration Challenge Exam contains two separate parts: Nursing Care During Childbearing (100 items) and Nursing Care of the Child (98 items). Separate score reports are provided for each part.

Scores are normed on nursing students in associate and diploma programs.
