The National League for Nursing has developed two master´s level course exams in
pharmacology and pathophysiology for master´s programs emphasizing the roles of the nurse practitioner and nurse
clinical specialist.
Purpose: Measures knowledge of pharmacology and pathophysiology for the advanced
practice nurse who will be prescribing and monitoring the effectiveness of medications as well as diagnosing and treating clients.
Format: 125 multiple-choice, four-option items
Administration: Schedule at the completion of master's pharmacology or pathophysiology courses. This test may only be administered as a computer-based test (CBT). or paper-based test (PBT). All CBT must be administered in a secure, proctored environment unless otherwise directed.
