BASIC PROFICIENCY IN MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION - RN

Purpose: : Measures the knowledge and abilities necessary for registered nurses to safely administer medication to a general adult patient population.

Format: 70- multiple choice, four-option items. Ten of these items are included for experimental purposes and are not scored.

Administration: Can be administered in approximately 75 minutes

Scoring: A total score of 60 and three subscores are provided.

Calculations: 14 items
Principles: 17 items

BASIC PROFICIENCY IN MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION - LPN

Purpose: Measures the knowledge and abilities necessary for licensed practical nurses to safely administer medication to a general adult patient population in a variety of healthcare settings.

Format: 70- multiple choice, four-option items. Ten of these items are included for experimental purposes and are not scored.

Administration: Can be administered in approximately 75 minutes

Scoring: A total score of 60 and three subscores are provided.

Calculations: 10 items
Principles: 20 items
Effects: 30 items

 


INTRAVENOUS THERAPY: PRINCIPLES AND APPLICATIONS

Purpose: Assesses the knowledge necessary for nurses in all practice settings to administer intravenous therapy and identifies those nurses in need of remedial instruction.

Format: 70- multiple choice, four-option items. Ten of these items are included for experimental purposes and are not scored.

Administration: Can be administered in approximately 75 minutes

Scoring: A total score of 60 and three subscores are provided.

CORONARY CARE MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION

Purpose: Measures the knowledge and abilities necessary for registered nurses to safely administer medication to an adult patient population in coronary care practice settings.

Format: 70- multiple choice, four-option items. Ten of these items are included for experimental purposes and are not scored.

Administration: : Can be administered in approximately 75 minutes

Scoring: A total score of 60 and three subscores are provided.

Effects: 28 items

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT MEDICATIONS

Purpose: Measures the knowledge and abilities necessary for registered nurses to safely administer medication to an adult patient population in emergency department practice settings.

Format: 70- multiple choice, four-option items. Ten of these items are included for experimental purposes and are not scored.

Administration: Can be administered in approximately 75 minutes

Scoring: A total score of 60 and three subscores are provided.

Calculations: 8 items
Effects: 28 items
Principles: 24 items

 


PEDIATRIC MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION

Purpose: Measures the knowledge and abilities necessary for registered nurses to administer medications accurately and safely to a general pediatric patient population.

Format: 70- multiple choice, four-option items. Ten of these items are included for experimental purposes and are not scored.

Administration: Can be administered in approximately 75 minutes

Scoring: A total score of 60 and three subscores are provided.

PSYCHOTROPIC DRUG ADMINISTRATION

Purpose: Measures the knowledge and abilities necessary for registered nurses to safely administer psychotropic medication to a general adult patient population.
