The NLN Center for Assessment and Evaluation follows the gold standards in testing published by the American Educational Research Association, American Psychological Association, and the National Council on Measurements in Education. The NLN's Fair Testing Guidelines is supported by NLN Assessment Services.

The NLN values inclusivity. Within test development, a diverse group of expert nurse educators serve as test item writers, test item reviewers, and on a fair testing committee to ensure that diversity is integrated in testing products. Our approach solicits input from individuals representing various ethnic, racial, cultural, and gender groups; geographic locations; and all types of nursing programs.

Currently, all NLN employees are working remotely. It can take 2-4 business days to receive a response via email. For instant questions, we have created a Tech Talk for institutions and agencies. Please join our Tech Talk via Zoom. Our Tech Talk hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central time with a break from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tech Talk will be closed every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for internal meetings.
