Dr. Raquel Bertiz currently serves as a Senior Manager at the NLN Center for Innovation in Education Excellence, where she leads the design and operationalization of educational products and co-directs national simulation leadership development initiatives. She brings over two decades of experience in academic settings, faculty development, and curriculum innovation. She previously served as Lead faculty for the Maryland Clinical Simulation Resource Consortium and Professor of Nursing at Montgomery College, where she led major concept-based curriculum revisions, expanded ADN-to-BSN pathways, and developed open educational resource (OER) textbooks, generating substantial student cost savings. She had produced open educational simulation video library resources that support statewide and multi-institutional simulation capacity building.

Dr. Bertiz’s scholarship examines nurse educators’ academic preparation for facilitating experiential and technology-enhanced learning, simulation data use for curriculum evaluation, and systems-based approaches to simulation team development. Her works reflects a sustained commitment to equitable access, educator readiness and excellence in nursing education.
