Integration of Pediatric Adversity and the Social Determinants of Health Webinar Recording

 

The National League for Nursing partnered with Wolters Kluwer to deliver a Spring 2019 Nursing Education Speaker Series webinar about the integration of pediatric adversity and the social determinants of health into curricula. Dr. Ashley Darcy-Mahoney, an expert on pediatric adversity and author of the ACE.P toolkit, discussed the use of the NLN’s ACE.P resources in a wide variety of nursing program courses and health care clinical settings.

 

ACE.P Thomas Sykes Unfolding Case Highlighted in NLN Nursing EDge Blog

 

Tonya Schneidereith, PhD, CRNP, PPCNP-BC, CPNP-AC, CNE, CHSE-A blogged about the the ACE.P Thomas Sykes unfolding case on the NLN Nursing EDge Blog. The NLN Nursing EDge Blog is a resource developed by the NLN Division for Innovation in Education Excellence. Contributors blog on topics that keep nurse educators up-to-date with the latest innovations in simulation, technology, e-learning, telehealth, and informatics.

Thomas is a young man struggling with many issues including obesity, depression, and cyber-bullying. His story will not only help prepare students to be more compassionate nurses, but will help prepare them to better deal with the multifaceted struggles facing our most vulnerable pediatric patients. Dr. Schneidereith's blog post discusses opportunities to integrate the case into a nursing curriculum.

 

Advancing Care Excellence for Pediatrics Webinar Recording

A recording of the November 28, 2018 Advancing Care Excellence for Pediatrics (ACE.P) webinar  is now available. ACE.P focuses on the increasing impact of environment, housing, and access to care for children in vulnerable populations. Dr. Elaine Tagliareni discussed new ACE.P resources and reviewed the other ACE resources available on the NLN website.
