Each state Board of Nursing will outline their requirements around the use of simulation in nursing education and what kind of documentation will be required to show evidence of training, etc. Nursing Accrediting agencies will also be outlining how they review and evaluate the use of simulation in the programs of study. High quality simulation is now guided by standards in simulation. When simulation is used, these standards help to outline the boundaries of quality simulation. Certification is an excellent mechanism to identify who is knowledgeable to be guiding the use of simulation.  Connect with your state board of nursing to understand what they will be requiring.  As well, look at the requirements of your accreditor to assure that you are thoughtfully addressing the use of simulation in your program.
