Dr. Jitana Benton-Lee is a nursing expert, educator, and advocate committed to advancing health equity and inclusive healthcare environments. She is the CEO and Founder of Cultured Remedy, LLC, and an Associate Professor of Graduate Nursing at Northern Kentucky University, while pursuing her PhD in Nursing at Texas Woman’s University. A Nurse Executive Advanced–Board Certified leader, Certified Nurse Educator, Apple Certified Educator, and Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory, she has earned multiple honors, including the Kentucky Organization of Nurse Leaders’ Emerging Leader Award.
Her work focuses on improving healthcare access for rural African Americans and deaf and hearing‑impaired communities, supported by recognition and funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the National Collaborative for Health Equity. She has held leadership roles with Sigma Theta Tau International, the Lexington Human Rights Commission, ANA, HELEN, and other organizations. As an educator, she teaches leadership, epidemiology, vulnerable populations, and health equity to doctoral nursing students.
