Nurses have a shared commitment to equitable, high-quality care that calls us to recognize and interrupt bias—both in ourselves and within our teams. In this interactive session, Dr. Samreen Vora and Brittany Dahlen will introduce evidence-based bias interruption skills designed to help you “show up” for health equity and foster more inclusive learning and clinical environments. Participants will learn and practice four key tools—See Me, Shift the Frame, Partner, and Notice & Interrupt—and create an action plan to integrate these strategies into their academic nursing practice.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe three evidence-based bias interruption skills.
  • Practice bias interruption skills in academic nursing case scenarios.
  • Create an action plan to integrate one bias interruption skill in the next month.
