NLN Leaders Inducted into the American Organization of Nurse Executives Inaugural Fellows

Washington, DC, February 25, 2019 — The National League for Nursing (NLN) applauds the induction of NLN president-elect, Patricia Yoder-Wise and NLN Foundation chair, Cole Edmonson. They are among the first to be honored with recognition as a Fellow of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE). Patricia Yoder- Wise, EdD, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, ANEF and Cole Edmonson, DNP, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC, FAAN will be inducted in AONE’s 2019 inaugural class of fellows.

The AONE fellowship was created to recognize a nurse leader’s sustained contribution to the specialty of nursing leadership commitment to service and influence in shaping health care. AONE's CEO, Robyn Begley, DNP, RN, has said of the fellow designation that they “reflect achievement at the highest level of nursing leadership practice excellence.” The official induction ceremony will take place on April 11 in San Diego at the AONE's Annual Meeting.

G. Rumay Alexander, EdD, RN, FAAN, NLN president, associate vice chancellor /chief diversity officer and professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, celebrated the induction saying: “president-elect Yoder-Wise and Foundation chair Edmonson are very deserving of this fellowship. Their visionary leadership will no doubt have a positive impact on AONE's new and growing fellowship program.”

CEO Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN praised their induction, saying “AONE has made excellent choices by selecting Pat and Cole as fellows for the inaugural class. Congratulations to our colleagues!”

NLN congratulates Drs. Yoder-Wise and Edmonson on being selected as AONE fellows and for the excellent work and leadership they bring to the League.
