Amy is the founder and CEO of Avkin Inc., established in 2016 to advance realistic healthcare simulation through the integration of standardized patients and wearable simulators. She provides strategic leadership, develops educational initiatives that elevate simulation practice, and serves as a recognized expert in standardized patient methodology. With nearly two decades of experience, her scholarly work includes more than ten peer‑reviewed publications and a book chapter in Defining Excellence in Simulation.
As an academic, Amy secured $500,000 in grant funding to study hybrid simulation outcomes and develop the world’s first wearable simulators designed to enhance standardized patient integration. She has delivered hundreds of keynote presentations, conference sessions, and webinars, and has mentored emerging leaders in the field for more than a decade.
Her contributions have earned multiple honors, including the inaugural Hayden‑Vanguard Lectureship Award, the IMSH first‑place Technology and Innovation Award, the Carol Ammon Innovator Award, and the National Council of Entrepreneurial Tech Transfer’s Best University Start‑Up Award.
