Dr. Beverly Malone Ranked Among Modern Healthcare’s 100 Most Influential People in Health Care in 2025
National League for Nursing President & CEO Honored for Leadership & Impact Across the Profession
Washington, DC — Modern
Healthcare, the leading mainstream publication in
health care, has again named National League for Nursing President and CEO Beverly Malone,
PhD, RN, FAAN, to the prestigious annual ranking of the
100 Most
Influential People in Healthcare.
Since 2015, Dr.
Malone has repeatedly been included in this elite yearly list of the 100 top
figures in health care institutions, professional associations, policy circles,
and government, business, and nonprofits, selected by the magazine’s senior
editors in consultation with a panel of knowledgeable insiders. A competitive
field of nominees is judged on qualities of leadership, contributions to the
industry, and influence and impact in effecting positive, sustainable changes
in public health, patient care, workplace culture, and health economics.
Among Dr. Malone’s
notable achievements in the past year, the magazine recognized her vision in
making artificial intelligence (AI) the centerpiece of the 2025 NLN Education Summit in Orlando,
Florida. The conference theme, The Challenge: Unravelling the Mysteries of AI,
addressed the growing role of AI in health care. Under her guidance and
direction, the NLN also published a new Vision Statement
on AI in Nursing
Education, released at the start of the conference in
September.
In addition, she
was lauded for expanding professional development opportunities for nurse
educators in the establishment of a new Assessment-Based
Certificate Program, continuing to grow the NLN Consultant and
Speakers Bureau to now include 40+ experts and thought
leaders, and organizing and hosting the inaugural Utstein Global
Conference for Expert Nurse Educators.
In congratulating
Dr. Malone, NLN
Chair Yolanda VanRiel, PhD, RN, MEDSURG-BC, OCN, CNE, ANEF, FAAN, chair of the
Department of Nursing, North Carolina Central University and patient placement
coordinator at First Health of the Carolinas-Moore Regional Hospital, said, “On behalf of the NLN Board of Governors, I applaud this
well-deserved honor, reflective of Dr. Malone’s stature in nursing and nursing
education, always striving and inspiring others to high levels of achievement.
Her visionary leadership has captivated the spirit of transformative excellence
that we aspire to bring to the preparation of clinicians capable of delivering
outstanding patient care.”
Dr. Malone said, “This
honor represents a recognition of the transformational work we strive to do at
the National League for Nursing to benefit patients, their families, and
communities worldwide throughout the year. I would not be in a position to lead
without the extraordinary team beside me, including our volunteer leadership
serving on the Board of Governors, the hundreds of nurse educators and scholars
who contribute their time and expertise to numerous initiatives, and the
professional staff at our headquarters in Washington, DC, and across the U.S.
who all implement our programming and curate the resources so vitally needed to
advance nursing education and thereby the health of the nation and global
community.”
Dr. Malone’s bio can
be found online.
Her Modern Healthcare profile, along with the complete list of the 2025 100 Most
