Dr. Jasper Tolarba is the inaugural Beatrice Hofstadter White Endowed Chair for Nursing Practice, Education, Research, and Innovation at Nuvance Health System and Sacred Heart University. He previously served as the first internationally educated nurse to hold a director role at CGFNS International. His clinical leadership experience includes positions at Tufts Medical Center, Aya Healthcare, Yale New Haven Hospital, and Saint Mary’s Hospital, and he has taught as adjunct faculty at the University of Massachusetts–Amherst, Simmons University, and Wilmington University.
A 2019–2020 Fulbright Fellow to the Kingdom of Jordan, Dr. Tolarba conducted national research on nursing education. He holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Systems and Health Policy from Yale University and an EdD in Nursing Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. He is the founder and president of the Society of Internationally Educated Nurses in North America (SIENNA).
Dr. Tolarba is board certified as a Global Nurse Consultant and Certified Nurse Educator and is a Fellow of ACHE, FFNMRCSI, and FAAN. He currently serves as Sigma Theta Tau International’s 2024–2027 Liaison to the United Nations, representing more than 100,000 members worldwide.
