Dr. Lorena B. Smith is a nurse educator, academic leader, published author, consultant, and owner of LB RN Consultants. With more than 23 years of experience spanning clinical practice, nursing education, simulation, informatics, and healthcare leadership, she has dedicated her career to advancing nursing education and workforce readiness.
Dr. Smith currently serves as Director of Nursing and teaches in prelicensure nursing programs. Her leadership experience includes roles as Dean of Nursing, Director of Education, Director of Simulation, and Assistant Dean of Clinical Services.
Her areas of expertise include curriculum development, competency-based education, simulation design and accreditation, faculty development, accreditation readiness, NCLEX preparation, nursing leadership, emotional intelligence, professional safety, and transition-to-practice readiness. She has successfully led nursing and simulation accreditation initiatives, serves as a peer reviewer for nursing journals, and presents on leadership, ethics, professional development, simulation, and nursing education innovation.
