Nursing Program Funding Increased $20 Million in FY 2018

Good news! In the fiscal year (FY) 2018 spending bill, the Title VIII nursing workforce development programs at the Health Resources and Services Administration received $249 million. This is $20 million or 9 percent above the FY17 funding level. This is the highest level of funding these programs have received in their fifty+ years of existence!

National Public Health Week 2018 is April 2–6

During the first full week of April each year, the American Public Health Association (APHA) brings together communities across the United States to observe National Public Health Week (NPHW) as a time to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight issues that are important to improving our nation's health. Every year, the Association develops a national campaign to educate the public, policymakers and practitioners about issues related to each year's theme. NPHW 2018 is April 2–6 and the theme for NPHW 2018 is "Changing Our Future Together."

During each day of National Public Health Week, APHA will focus on one public health topic. Read more...
