Institute for the Care of Vulnerable Populations

There is an immediate need to transform nursing education to better prepare students to advance the health of the nation’s underserved populations. Through this institute, NLN creates evidence-based teaching resources for nurse educators to incorporate evolving knowledge about individuals, families, and communities who face barriers to fully access health care. Institute resources provide innovative solutions on how nurses working in an interprofessional environment can meet the special needs of older adults, veterans, Alzheimer’s patients, people with disabilities, children, caregivers, and LGBTQ+ people.
