This workshop helps new educators meet the NLN Core Competencies to become Nurse Educators. It includes: strategies to facilitate learning, assessment and evaluation of student performance in the classroom and clinical settings; considerations of curriculum design and evaluation of program outcomes; continuous quality improvement scholarship, and functions of the faculty role.

• Describe theoretical and instructional practices that promote effective facilitation of learning among nursing students in academic and clinical environments.
• Examine educational practices that support successful achievement and professional socialization across a diverse nursing student body.
• Consider a variety of assessment and evaluation strategies used in nursing to appraise theoretical and clinical learning.
• Create a personal plan for success in the role of nurse educator.
