1. What is the NLN PN/VN Faculty Initiative?
The PN/VN Faculty Initiative is a national effort to support practical and vocational nursing educator through resources, education, community building, and research.
2. Who is this initiative designed for?
PN/VN faculty, clinical instructors, program directors, deans, workforce partners, and anyone supporting PN/VN education.
3. Why did the NLN create this initiative?
To elevate PN/VN education, strengthen faculty development, highlight workforce contributions, and provide dedicated support that aligns with the needs of PN/VN programs.
4. What types of resources will be available?
Webinars, On-Demand courses, teaching tools, curriculum guidance, facult development frameworks, assessment services, and workforce partnership models.
5. Are the resources free?
Some resources are complimentary; others may require payment and/or NLN membership.
6. Will there be tools specifically for new PN/VN faculty?
Yes ; orientation guides, teaching strategies, clinical teaching resources, and quick-start toolkits will be included.
7. What professional development opportunities are offered?
Continuing education, virtual webinars, assessment tools, and opportunities to connect with other PN/VN educators through NLN Connect.
8. Will these activities provide continuing education credits?
Most NLN webinars and courses offer CE credits; details will be listed in each course description.
9. How can I get involved with the initiative?
Get involved by volunteering, presenting a webinar, joining pilot projects, sharing best practices, or engaging in collaborative efforts that strengthen PN/VN education
10. Is there a certification specifically for PN/VN educators?
Yes - the CNE®pv validates expertise in PN/VN teaching.
