Genomics is no longer the future of healthcare it is an integral part of everyday nursing practice. From family history assessment and pharmacogenomics to cancer risk, newborn screening, and chronic disease management, nurses already apply genomics even when they don’t call it “genomics.” This interactive train-the-trainer webinar equips nurse educators at all levels (LPN to DNP/PhD) with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to embed genomics into classroom, simulation, and clinical teaching.

Participants will explore why genomics matters for every nurse, highlighting its expanding role in personalized care, health equity, translational science, and clinical decision-making. Participants will learn practical strategies to integrate genomic content into existing courses such as health assessment, pathophysiology, pharmacology, leadership, ethics, and evidence-based practice, without needing to “add a new course.” By the end of the workshop, educators will leave with applicable teaching materials, a selection of resources, strategies to address common misconceptions about genomics, and the confidence to prepare the future nursing workforce to deliver precision health and genomics-informed care.
