Pushed to the Margins, Built for Greatness: Black Nursing History and the Legacy of Lincoln School for Nurses
Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how historical inequities shaped training and professional identity, as well as how the legacy of schools like Lincoln School for Nurses continues to inform nursing practice, education, and equity work today.
Learning Outcomes:
- Describe key eras in Black nursing history and their impact on workforce development.
- Analyze the Lincoln School for Nurses as a model of excellence, resistance, and institutional care.
- Identify influential Black nurse leaders and their contributions to healthcare reform and community health.
- Connect historical disparities in nursing education to ongoing challenges and equity efforts within the profession.
- Reflect on strategies for honoring and integrating Black nursing history in academic, clinical, and leadership settings.
