From Headsets to Datasets: Empowering Nurse Educators to Use AI in Immersive Simulation & Beyond
Washington, DC – Dr. Cynthia Bradley, director of simulation and assistant professor at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing, will dive into the exciting new technologies powering transformation in nursing education in her talk planned for the Debra L. Spunt Memorial Lecture at the NLN Education Summit, September 17-19 in Orlando, Florida.
From Headsets to Datasets: Empowering Nurse Educators to Use AI in Immersive Simulation and Beyond will explore how nurse educators can maximize artificial intelligence (AI) to transform simulation-based learning and extend its impact across the curriculum. Dr. Bradley will focus on three key applications of AI in nursing education: enhancing immersive virtual reality (IVR) simulation; analyzing large-scale learner performance data; and generating instructional materials through strategic prompt engineering.
“Dr. Bradley’s years of intensive research into experiential learning modalities, including the use of simulation in nursing education, has made her uniquely qualified to share her knowledge and insights as artificial intelligence becomes ever more central to teaching and learning in the classroom and at the bedside,” said NLN Chair Patricia Sharpnack, DNP, RN, CNE, NEA-BC, ANEF, FAAN, Dean and Strawbridge Professor at the Breen School of Nursing and Health Professions at Ursuline College in Ohio.
“As simulation in nursing education has evolved to integrate virtual reality and other cutting edge artificial intelligence, we are excited to welcome one of the field’s experts in its application to prepare practice-ready nurses. AI technology is the latest tool in the nurse educator’s toolbox for promoting excellence in nursing education for the benefit of national and global health, which makes it imperative for all nursing graduates to be fluent in and comfortable in all of its dimensions,” said NLN President and CEO Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN.
